Born in Hong Kong in 2000, Lai Tsz Nok graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2022. In the same year, he founded Sinky Studio. He is currently based in Taiwan, where he continues his studies and artistic practice.

His artistic experience spans photography, painting, printmaking, and participatory art. Drawing from personal experience, his work explores the fundamental nature of the relationships between humans and nature, society, life, and ethics, while seeking to articulate a resonant voice amid the uncertainties of the contemporary era.

The core of his current practice revolves around ornamentation, painting, and poetics. His works investigate the potential of ornamentation to transform the atmosphere and texture of space. He further defines ornamentation in relation to found objects: it may function as an attachment, an extension, or a force that repositions and revalues an object's original identity and meaning.

For him, painting is both an infusion of personal humanity and a functional medium. He approaches painting as a form of wrapping or packaging, or as something akin to a curtain. At the same time, painting embodies a form of conatus—a vital force of desire and persistence. Through painting, he seeks to permeate real space with personal vitality, will, and lived experience.

His creative process often involves three stages—appropriation, imitation, and reconstruction—to generate poetic spaces marked by contradiction and tension, juxtaposing elements such as Zen and industrialized methods, or the classical and the contemporary.

2000出生於香港，2022於香港浸會大學視覺藝術學系畢業，於同年成立個人刺所工作室，現於台灣修讀及創作。

 

​創作經歷橫跨攝影、繪畫、版畫、參與式藝術等。由個人經驗出發，希望探討人與自然、社會、生命及論理的本質，並嘗試在浮沉的世代中發出有力的吶喊。

 

​現創作核心在於裝飾性、繪畫、詩性，作品提出裝飾性對空間質感造成影響的可能性，除此之外，我會定義裝飾性跟現成物有關，可能是依附，或是擴張，或改變現成物的原有的定位或價值。然而，繪畫對我而是一種個人人性的摻入，同時是功能性的。我意圖把繪圖塑造成像是包裝的性質呈現，或像是一道窗簾。此外，繪畫在我的作品中也是一種CONATUS欲力的存在，我透過繪畫去把個人的生命力量或意志或個人經驗滲透至現實空間之中。我亦希望透過取材、模仿、重構 這三個步驟來創造 矛盾、衝突的詩性空間，比如襌與工業化手段、古典與現代等。
